Alumni Membership

An alumni of UWest may apply for a library card for a discounted annual fee of $60.00.

Only interested in a particular item? If you wish to obtain borrow a specific item, instead of a membership, you may want to inquire with your public library for details on their interlibrary loan service. They may be able to borrow the item for you for free or at a low cost.

How do I apply for a library card? You will need to apply in person at the library during regular office hours (M-F, 9am-5pm). Have the following items ready:

1. Ask a staff member for the application form.
2. Library Patron Agreement: Fill out online and email to library@uwest.edu.
3. Payment. To pay with a credit card, please select the UWest Marketplace (Select 'Library Fee'), make sure the total amount is correct, save the payment receipt notice to PDF and forward it to library@uwest.edu.

After you fill out the form, we will need to verify your alumni status. If you no longer have your UWest ID card, you will need to take a picture at the Student Life office to get a new ID card (Student Life Office is closed from 12pm-1pm for lunch). Please be prepared to present your UWest ID card for checkout.

Can I access the library's wireless system? Our wireless system is available only for current faculty, staff, and students. You may inquire at the circulation desk with your UWest ID card to obtain access to the general computer workstations and use the Internet.

Can I access the library's databases? Currently, our licensing agreements with the databases prohibit its remote use outside of current faculty, staff, and students. However, several database such as JSTOR (Register & Read) and Digital Dictionary of Buddhism allow limited guest use. See our database list, restricted materials will be show a UWest icon--see legend. 

Additional extensions/renewals may be provided upon request. Please contact us if you have run out of renewals and cannot return items on time.
